CIA Succeeds with “Christmas in a Shoebox”

Preston Hancock, Student Life Section Editor

Over the past few weeks, the Christians in Action (CIA) club has been collecting toys, school supplies, and personal items to make Christmas shoeboxes to give to kids in need.  By the end of the drive, the club was able to collect 47 full shoe boxes and make 47 kids in the world very happy. When asked about the success of the drive, Mrs. Creech states, “I was real pleased with the amount of help we received.”  She states that in the past, she has tracked the boxes and have seen them go everywhere from Madagascar and Brazil to Russia. Mrs. Creech also shared a wonderful story about how a child had a sore on his foot and would have lost his foot if it had not been for a shoebox filled with socks that was delivered to his family.  Hopefully this drive can encourage others to give to those in need during this holiday season!
