Show Choir Shows their Talent

Preston Hancock, Student Life Section Editor

This next weekend, the high school showchoir, Friends, will compete at the Marysville Showcase competition.  At the competition, Friends will compete against nine other groups in their division with many other showchoirs in other divisions as well.  The showchoir will be facing some very difficult groups at the competition, but they believe that it will be a very close competition and that they might even be able to come home with the grand champion trophy.

Although this is their first competition of the season, the showchoir has been practicing ever since the school year started.  Normally, the group’s practice schedule includes practice on Monday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 but during competition season, they often have practices from 4:30 to 9:00.  Another thing to know about the competition season for showchoir is that it is very long; the first competition is Marysville this Saturday and the last competition is at Wapakoneta on April 4.

Last year Friends was ranked in the top ten showchoirs in the nation!  Make sure to find a time to watch and support this amazing group.
