Why the 49ers Will Win the Superbowl?

This year’s Super Bowl features the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl will be played this Sunday (February 2, 2020). It will be aired at 6:30 pm EST. Both teams have had great seasons and it all comes down to one last game in Miami this weekend.

The Chiefs offense has been dominant this season and Mahomes has been amazing, but they are going against the best defense. According to nfl.com, the average defensive rank for a Super Bowl champion is 6.8 and the top ranked defense has won the Super Bowl 8 times. This statistic shows how important defense is to a Super Bowl win and the 49ers have an elite defense that can win them the Super Bowl. Eric Anderson, a junior at BHS, says “The 49ers are going to win the Super Bowl because of their great defense.”

Patrick Mahomes is crucial to the Chiefs high-scoring offense, but I think the 49ers will be able to stop him. This season the 49ers have had the most sacks, but the least amount of blitzes. This shows how dominant the 49ers’ defensive line has been. I think the 49ers’ defensive line will be able to pressure Mahomes and this will force him to make quicker throws and will limit his production.
