One of the most forgotten BHS sports is wrestling. Wrestling is a winter sport. This year the wrestling team has 55 total students on the team. They have practice every day and they also have a competition every week. They do everything they can to prepare for each competition so they can do their best every competition.
The wrestling teams’ had work has paid off. So far this season their record is 16-3, which is a fantastic record. Hopefully, the team can keep up it’s good form in the postseason. The team has very high expectations for the postseason. They hope to have many wrestlers competing in the District and State Tournament in March.
There are many challenges to the wrestling season. Wrestling coach, Mr. Clingner, says, “enduring an entire wrestling season can be a challenge but our guys are battling through it.” The wrestlers have been pushing through the season and it’s been paying off for them.
Kyah Patrick, Ian Baird, Garrett Golden, Gavin Bell, Tyler Hicks, and Justin Knipper have been the stars for the team this season. Each of these athletes have contributed to the team in some way. These athletes have had a tremendous impact on the team and have helped the team succeed.
The team is losing some really good seniors this year. The wrestling senior class has been great leaders for the team this season. Graduation will be a huge loss for the team. The seniors set a great example for the underclassmen. The underclassmen have gotten a lot of experience this season and will become the leaders for next season.
