Sports Update: Men’s Soccer

John Rick, Inside BHS Section Editor

The men’s soccer team has gotten off to a great start with an undefeated record so far. They have six wins and one tie so far in the season. The team’s game on Tuesday, September 15th marked the halfway point of their Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) season.

The team looks to win GWOC, districts, and regionals. It is an accomplishable goal for the team, but they will have to pick up their game to get there. Despite their undefeated record, they have had a few shaky games. They only beat Springfield 1-0 when they easily could have beaten them by a lot more.

The team’s one tie this season was against Centerville, which is one of Beavercreek’s closest rivals. The game was a tight contest that ended 3-3. In order to win GWOC, the team will need to find a way to beat Centerville, another contender for the GWOC title.

Benjamin Albrecht, a senior on the team, said, “We all want the same thing on game day: a win, so we put in the work every day to achieve this. We work well as a team and have a very tight bond.” Ben Albrecht has high hopes for the team this season.

Hopefully the team will accomplish its goal of winning GWOC and more.
