Introducing the Boys Basketball Season

John Rick, Inside BHS Section Editor

If you did not know the Beavercreek High School boys basketball team begins their season soon. Their first game of this season is November 30. The game is at home and against Ponitz.

The coach of the boys basketball team, Steve Pittman, believes they are viewed as underdogs this year because they lost a lot of seniors last year. They only have two seniors on the team this year. Coach Pittman still believes the team can accomplish a lot this season. When asked about his expectations for the season he said, “The expectation is to be in contention for a league championship.”

They started preparing for the season around the beginning of June. They trained for nine weeks straight and then took some time off in the middle of August. Since that break in August the team has continued to practice and prepare for this season. During the this training they did lifting, conditioning, and worked on individual skill work.

So far the Greater Western Ohio Conference has not had any schedule changes due to COVID-19. However the Miami-Valley league is only playing in-conference games. This means our boys basketball team will not play Xenia and Fairborn this season.
