Wrestling is one of the biggest high school winter sports. The wrestling team has already started it’s preparations for the upcoming season. COVID-19 has forced the team to stay more separated than they usually do. The team is doing the best they can to social distance to keep everyone safe.

The coach for the BHS wrestling team, Mr. Clinger says, “Our goal this season is for every wrestler on our team to improve every single day as wrestlers and individuals. The ultimate goal is to make it to the state tournament in March and compete to be the best in the STATE.” This is a hard goal to accomplish, but it can be done with the right mindset.

The wrestling season is very demanding and to prepare for it the team has had strengthening and conditioning. The team has made the commitment to get better by coming to these strength and conditioning sessions as well as practices.

Their first competition of the season is January 12 against Centerville. The competition was originally planned for December, but they moved it back. This extra time in December allowed the team to work on technique and conditioning. We’ll see if this extra practice will help the team find success.
