As theaters open up, the production of films has increased. The majority of postponed films from the early start of COVID are now releasing in the beginning of the new year. Whether you’re quarantined or just bored, be sure to take up your time watching new films at home or in theaters. Here are some newly released movies with ratings and a summary:
Asphalt Burning – January 2, 2021. Rotten Tomatoes rating of 20%.
A man travels to Germany to win the girl. However, he must win the Nurburgring race and face challenges that go along with it in order to do so.
The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run – January 1, 2021. Rotten Tomatoes rating of 77%.
Spongebob and Patrick are on a mission across the Bikini Bottom to save their stolen friend, Gary.
The Minimalists: Less Is Now – January 1, 2021. Rotten Tomatoes rating is not yet available.
Friends Joshua Milburn and Ryan Nicodemus (also known as the “Minimalists”) work to portray the famous phrase “less is more” into current society.

The setting takes place in 1869 and discusses the occurrences that caused the game to become cursed and the people involved.
Caged – January 26, 2021
After being convicted of murdering his wife, an African American psychiatrist must serve his time in federal prison. While confined, he experiences hauntings by demons, including his dead wife.
Our Friend – January 22, 2021
A man invites a friend into his home to help around the house when finding out his ill wife only has six months to live.
