Increasing Cases

Last week Governor DeWine came out stating that “The spread of the Delta variant has dramatically accelerated…” and the level of cases is as high as last February.  Over the past two weeks 3,235 cases have been shown as positive. Within the last week there have been around three days where over 3,000 new cases have been reported. Before last week there hadn’t been a week where over 3,000 cases have been positive since February. With the vaccinations continuing in the state, only 35% are vaccinated within 12 to 17 years old.

“The best way to make sure that your child can stay in school and not have his or her classes interrupted is for that child to be vaccinated.  If that child cannot be vaccinated, then best way to ensure a good school year is for that child to wear a mask in class,” DeWine encourages. Adults aren’t the only ones in danger, children are less likely to get severely ill but are still able to become ill. As of today, August 24, cases are increasing. “The bottom line is that COVID-19 is a very bad virus, even for our children.”
