Covid-19 has had a rise in cases since winter break. Not only at Beavercreek, but schools in the Country are suffering from staff shortage due to Covid-19. In the past two weeks there have been reported 46 total staff cases, 239 student cases, and 11 total student quarantines in the Beavercreek district. Omicron is the newest variant of the virus and it is tanking the case numbers in the United States. The CDC says “CDC is working with state and local public health officials to monitor the spread of Omicron. As of December 20, 2021, Omicron has been detected in most states and territories and is rapidly increasing the proportion of COVID-19 cases it is causing.” To avoid getting Covid-19, the CDC suggests getting vaccinated, wear a mask in closed areas, and to test if you have any symptoms.
At Beavercreek High School, there are set protocols to keep the school safe from Covid-19. Protocols include maximized social distancing, masks, promotion of the vaccine, cleaning, better ventilation system, and contact tracing systems. To keep you and your friends safe here at BHS, follow these protocols as much as possible.
