NBA All-Star Game 2023
Mar 2, 2023
The All-Star game for the NBA this year was hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 19th. This year the NBA changed the game this year by having the team captains, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokunmpo, pick their teams live on the day of the game, instead of two weeks prior. The honorable mentions are Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Zion Williamson because they were injured but were still all starsTeam LeBron had himself, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Anthony Edwards, De’Aron Fox, Paul George, Tyrese Haliburton, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Julius Randle. Team Giannis had Ja Morant, Lauri Markkanen, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Demar DeRozan, Jrue Holiday, Damian Lillard, Domantis Sabonis, and Pascal Siakam. Lebron James has been undefeated in the all-star game since 2019, beating Giannis twice, and Kevin Durant twice. But this year it was a lot more interesting than the last. Team Giannis started out hot from three and were getting the wildest dunks. Team LeBron also had some impressive dunks. The first quarter ended with the score 46-46, sending $50,000 to both the team’s charities. The second quarter however was a win for Team Giannis as they scored 53 over Team LeBron’s 46. At this point in the game, Giannis and LeBron were both taken out of the game due to injuries. The total score at the end of the game was Team Giannis 184 to Team LeBron’s 175. Jayson Tatum won the All-Star MVP with a record-breaking 55 points.
