For over 15 years, BHS has participated in the Christmas in a Shoebox Drive, spreading holiday cheer to children in need worldwide. Part of Operation Christmas Child, this initiative involves packing shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies for children in impoverished communities. Mrs. Creech, a teacher at BHS, emphasized, “It is a privilege to do it each year.” It began in 1993 and has since delivered over 220 million shoeboxes to children in 170 countries. “Our boxes are just a small ‘drop in the bucket’,” Mrs. Creech stated, “but each one brings joy to the life of a child.” Last year, BHS and CIA sent 61 boxes globally to communities suffering from poverty, drought, or disaster, ensuring children experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holidays. This year, BHS and CIA packed 37 shoeboxes to be delivered to children around the world!
