This bond issue provides the funding necessary for the district to initiate the Master Facility Plan that was created and was then approved during the 2019-2020 school year. The Master Facility Plan calls for the construction of a new high school on land already owned by the district. Our existing high school as of now will be renovated and will serve as the middle school for the district. Our two middle schools will be renovated and utilized as elementary schools. Main Elementary School comes offline as a school and will be renovated to serve as the Central Office. Ferguson Hall will be utilized for alternative purposes, serving as alternative education for the district and possibly used by both the Greene County Educational Service Center as well as the Greene County Career Center. A dedicated gym will be constructed at Parkwood, Fairbrook, and Valley. Some specific details about the school are that the bond is over 4 .7 million, and the duration of that bill will last for the duration of 37 years. Paul Otten, our superintendent say’s “Should the bond issue proceed, the new high school and all renovations will open for the 2029-2030 school year. Today’s 4th graders would be freshmen at the new high school when it opens.”
