The resilient men’s creek cross country has recently qualified for the state meet. In an interview with BHS Junior Jackson Davis, he depicted his team’s quest to the state meet. He mentioned that the team, “has been preparing for the state meet since the start of the summer when we first started our Cross Country training. All of us have put in hundreds of miles and tons of hard workouts all for the goal of winning the State Meet which has been the goal for a long time now.” State has been a focus for the entire season for this team and they work incredibly hard all year for this race. Jackson Davis also explains that he, “personally does a lot of little things like lift, roll out, stretch, and ext.”. He emphasizes there are many components that each runner has to maintain during the season in anticipation of the state meet. Lastly, he said, “For our varsity team, we have gone to big races like The Wingfoot Classic and Nike Twilight which helped us simulate what the State Meet will be like with very good competition and good teams.” Each meet has helped the team improve and they used every chance they could to improve for the state championships. Overall, the runners have taken many crucial months to prepare for the championships and the team is ready to take on the state meet.
