A deadly storm with the death toll surpassing 130 is benefiting Ohio by closing a drought period. Although there were a few storms that caused some minor damage. Hurricane Helene is a very hazardous category 4 Hurricane that primarily affects many East Coast states, including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio. Ohio is finding the end of a drought period because of Hurricane Helene and people in the Beavercreek area should expect rain for the next 5 days. The state of Ohio recently went through a drought that lasted 30 days and the hurricane helped our state get out of the period of drought. Maddie Pasene stated, “My power has been out for the past 5 days. This has put a major strain on my daily life, and doing day-to-day things without power is quite difficult”. The hurricane does bring more harm than good. The power has been out in areas close to BHS. This has become an increasing hindrance to our local area with the power outages. Overall, hurricane Helene has presented many hardships followed by one benefit for Ohio.
