With the new year quickly approaching, many people are setting New Year’s Resolutions. But how can you stick to these resolutions? You can not be too vague, instead, choose an attainable and specific goal. Also, make sure to stay accountable. One way to do this is by telling your friends and family about your goal. They can help by reminding you periodically to stick to your goal.
Another way to stick to your resolution is to not expect too much from yourself immediately. New routines don’t become a habit overnight. According to UC Davis Health, “On average, it takes 66 days to form a new habit.” The longer you work towards your goal, the easier it will be to stick to it. Don’t give up if you can’t hit your goal immediately.
