The women’s soccer team is starting the season off strong with a record of 4-2, currently winning against Big Walnut, Miamisburg, Northmont, and Hilliard Bradley. Last Saturday, September 6, Beavercreek took on Hilliard Bradley and won with a score of 4-2. Morgan Labenski, a junior at BHS, stated, “Our last game was probably one of our strongest this season so far. We played Hilliard Bradley, and we were able to get the win by scoring four goals to their two. They were an aggressive team, but we stuck with them and fought hard throughout the full 80 minutes. Throughout the whole game, there were some great balls up to the strikers and some good passing sequences in both halves. The defenders and the goalkeeper did really well in not letting the other team score goals after their two. Overall, the team had a very promising showing and worked very good together to get this win.” Morgan Labenski also mentioned that performance-wise, in both the first and second halves, the players’ energy was up, and they were doing a nice job of holding their ground physically against Hilliard Bradley. The girls also have some major goals for this upcoming season. Madylin Labenski, a junior at Beavercreek High School, stated, “The girls’ soccer team’s main goal is to win state and GWOC, like most teams at BHS. While this is definitely a larger goal, achieving it would bring immense honor to the sport of soccer and demonstrate to everyone that we come to play.” Madylin Labenski also mentioned how another goal is to make the players better and to motivate the team to give 110% in every practice and game. She stated, “Effort and hard work are crucial to our team, and we believe that’s the foundation for a group with good teamwork and motivation.” This upcoming Wednesday, September 10, Beavercreek plays at Wayne, with JV starting at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:15. If you have the chance, go and support your team as they take on Wayne!
