As of September 22, 2025, it is officially fall. This means the leaves are starting to change colors and descend from the trees with the slight fall breeze drifting in the air. As we head into October, these higher temperatures will stay, with the lowest temperatures being in the 50s and the highest reaching the low 80s. We will get a couple more days of this warmer summer weather, as opposed to the chilly fall mornings awaiting us in a few weeks. Samantha Oxner, a junior at Beavercreek High School, stated her opinion on the upcoming fall weather: “Honestly, no, I don’t like fall weather because to me it feels like fall weather is just summer weather leaving.” Many are not fans of the cooler months ahead and wish to hang on to the warmer weather for a little longer. Oxner also stated, “I prefer summer weather, I enjoy being able to soak up the sun and vitamin D. Sometimes I think summer makes me healthier because of how much better the vitamin D makes me feel.” Accompanying this, some prefer the hotter months of summer weather due to their wardrobe options. Oxner mentioned, “I prefer warm-weather clothes over cooler-weather clothes. This is because I like to be able to throw on a t-shirt and shorts.” Although some may find many downsides to the transition from summer to fall, not everything is bad about these changes. Oxner stated, “My favorite thing about fall weather is being able to work out outside. In the summer, you get hot and fatigued faster, and in the winter and spring, it is cold and rainy. All these weather conditions are just not ideal surroundings to exercise in, but in the fall, the temperature is perfect.” So, if you’re not one for the colder weather, enjoy these last few days of warmer temperatures and prepare for the cooler weather coming in these next few weeks.
