The Star Wars movies are full of great characters that are all unique in their own ways. Unfortunately, it’s inevitable that some of these characters are lost forever after being killed or removed. As a result, there’s a large group of these characters now, and most fans want at least one of them to make a return to the movies. For me, I would like to see Darth Maul again, and here’s some reasons why.

First, Darth Maul only appeared in one movie, The Phantom Menace. Almost every character appears in at least two episodes, so it was disappointing to see Maul die before The Phantom Menace was over. This was also why I didn’t pick Han Solo or Boba Fett, who were seen in many more movies.

Secondly, Darth Maul is such an interesting character. The Sith Lord is shrouded in mystery, and the audience is told almost nothing about his backstory. Ryan Lambie from Den of Geek! said, “His look and presence alone were enough to tell you that he would make a formidable opponent in combat.” According to Lambie, bringing Maul back would allow us to learn more about him: “[George Lucas] could have added additional depth to the character in subsequent films.”

Lastly, he’s a Sith Lord! These individuals possess so much evil power and can totally transform a movie on their own. There’s nothing more awesome than a great lightsaber fight between a Sith and a Jedi, similar to what you see at the end of The Phantom Menace. Most Star Wars fans know that while there are many, many Jedi, there are only two Sith in the universe at once. Adding another one opens up so many possibilities for new storylines and more of the thrilling action that defines the Star Wars movie franchise.

I would love to see at least one of these lost characters brought back to the Star Wars movies, and I believe that Darth Maul is a great place to start!
