Student Officer Elections
April 6, 2018
It’s the time of year to get ready for student officer elections. Applications to every position are in the office and must be turned in by April 11th to Mrs. Debord’s or Mr. Gilbert’s mailbox. Each form requires 75 signatures from students in the same grade and 4 signatures from teachers to be valid. Students can make up to 3 posters and submit them to the office to be put up around the school.
The applications have specific rules for eligibility on the back. There are certain restrictions for any of this year’s juniors who have not previously ran for office. Each position has different responsibilities depending on what your class will be. For example, anyone running for a junior class office will have the responsibility of organizing prom. Noah Wegley, a junior running for student council office, said, “Holding an officer position is a great responsibility and I hope to hold up to those standards next year.” Good luck to anyone running for office!
