The California Wildfire is now 100% contained according to state officials. The fire started on November 8th and has ravaged a large area in northern California, forcing entire towns to evacuate as flames grew closer to neighboring towns. Most recent reports state that 79 people are confirmed to be dead while a shocking 699 people remain missing as a result of the infernos.

Residents around Paradise, a town completely devastated by the fire, are relieved that the destruction will not spread further. National coverage of these events will most likely slow down, but Americans as a whole are relieved that the fire has been contained as well. Senior Sam Ford said, “The pictures of the fire look unreal, it’s unbelievable how many people were hurt by the whole thing.” The fire will likely take another week to extinguish, but it is unlikely that more people will get hurt.
