Which Roller Coaster is Best – Banshee

Mark Rick, Opinion Section Editor

Roller coasters are a loved form of entertainment by many. People flock to amusement parks for the thrill they give you. With all the roller coasters available, it’s hard to tell which one is the best one. There are many great roller coasters, but the Banshee at Kings Island is the best.

Banshee provides a great thrill and is unique compared to the other roller coasters. Firstly, unlike other roller coasters, on the Banshee, your feet are dangling off the roller coaster. Also, the Banshee is the longest inverted roller coaster in the world. It features 7 inversions at a speed of 68 mph.

The Banshee is 2 minutes and 40 seconds of pure fun. Also, if you find the Banshee at the right time, it will have little to no line and you could ride it multiple times in half the time you wait for Diamondback. The Diamondback is the most popular ride at Kings Island, so this causes it to have really long lines. With shorter lines, you get more fun for a shorter wait time.

The flips, the smoothness, and the speed of the roller coaster are the best things about roller coasters. The Banshee has all of these things. Isabel Moran, a junior at BHS, said, “The Banshee is a smooth roller coaster; it glides well and the flips and speed are the best part.”

When riding on Banshee you have an aerial view of the park. This view is especially good in the front of Banshee. At the front there is nothing in front of you except the fresh air, which makes riding in the front really fun. However, any spot on the Banshee is amazing.

Diamondback and Banshee are both exhilarating rides, but Banshee separates itself from the Diamondback with its flips and inversions. The Banshee is the best roller coaster for these reasons.
