Issue One has made a great deal in Ohio. According to issueone.org, one of their goals is “more critical than ever: Our democratic republic is under greater stress than it has been in generations,”. A major mission of theirs is to limit the influence of big money over politics and improve Congress’s ability to resolve issues. The whole synopsis of issue one is it will change the “process of how citizen-led initiatives can amend Ohio’s constitution” (Spectrumnews1.com). Meaning, it could’ve changed Ohio’s constitution in the upcoming future. It would make it where it would be a 60% percent vote instead of the simple majority. On Spectrumnows1.com, it is stated that our former state representative Mike Curtin expressed, “If Issue 1 is approved on August 8th, it would apply to all future amendments,”. The residents in Ohio overruled this issue by nearly 70 percent according to PBS NewsHour. As of now Issue 1 has been overruled and majority vote still stands in Ohio.
