The library at BHS was hit with chaos when this pipe just decided to burst out of the blue. Water gushed everywhere, like a mini waterfall crashing down on our quiet reading spots. It was insane how fast it spread – the floors got soaked, and then the water started dripping through the ceiling into the commons. Imagine, like, waterfalls inside the school! The library, which was all calm and peaceful, turned into a total mess real quick. Books were sitting there, totally drenched, their pages all wavy and crinkly. Everyone freaked out, scrambling to move stuff and get out of the way of this watery invasion. It was like a movie scene, but instead of actors, it was us trying to dodge the water and save whatever we could. Mrs. Kustowski, a teacher in the library at the time had this to say about the flood: “It was crazy, it filled the library up like the Dayton flood of 1913.” The whole place went from chill vibes to panic central in no time. People were hustling around, trying to stop the water and figure out how to fix the mess. It was wild seeing everyone come together, though. We had to hustle to dry things up and get things back to normal. Not the kind of excitement we were looking for at school!
