The NFL Season is underway and was it a crazy week 1! We started the season Thursday night with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Detroit Lions at home. The Chiefs were up going into the second half, but a receiver for Kansas City, Kadarius Toney, hit the ball into the air, and the Lions caught it for a pick-six, and all the momentum stayed on the Detroit sideline, upsetting the former champions Kansas City Chiefs 21-20. There was a plethora of games on Sunday, look below to see all of the scores. The first week ended on Monday night when the New York Jets played the Buffalo Bills. This game was easily the best game of the entire week. Three plays into the game, the new starting quarterback for the Jets, Aaron Rodgers, tore his Achilles and was ruled out for the season. The backup Zach Wilson had to step in, and he took control. He was able to stay with the Bills throughout the entire game. With six seconds left in the 4th quarter, the Bills were down by 3 and the kicker Tyler Bass hit a field goal sending the game into overtime. Overtime didn’t last very long, however, as rookie player Xavier Gimpson took it to the house with a 65-yard punt return to end the game in spectacular fashion. The score ended with the Jets winning 22-16.
