Last Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, the election was held. On the ballot, there was a decision whether to pass or fail the levy for Beavercreek City Schools. This levy, as established in my prior article, referred to as the Beavercreek Schools Levy on the Ballot, is essential to the school in order to maintain the district’s current stability, for example, support of the programs provided to students and their families. In parallel, new legislation has eliminated the 12.5% rollback included in the levy. Starting in the new year, it will not be included in the potential levy in May if it does not pass now. Luckily, the levy was passed in the election held on Tuesday. Mr. Otten, the superintendent, stated that…“The levy was passed by the Beavercreek voters 59% in favor and 41% opposed.” It was important that this levy passed due to the massive amount of funding the district needs to operate successfully. Mr. Otten also mentioned what this outcome means for the district as a whole: “With the passage of the levy, it will continue to provide funding in the amount of $18.5 million dollars annually through December of 2031.” This also means that the district can maintain the current level of programs and services that are offered to students and their families. In addition, Mr. Otten stated, “…the passage of our levy provides financial stability for the district for the next 6 years.” It was very important to our school district that this levy passed, and without the help of everyone in Beavercreek, this would have never happened alone.
