As the holiday season approaches, the yearly debate of which Christmas movie is the best arrives with it. Ranging from comedies to classics, there are tons of Christmas movies to choose from. Students around BHS shared what they believe are the best Christmas movies to date. Juliana Hall, a junior at Beavercreek, stated, “Home Alone or National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are my favorites. Home Alone because it is a classic, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation because it is hilarious.” Both of these films are wildly popular in homes throughout the country during this season. With each movie bringing joy and laughter to the viewers watching. Meher Kaur, another junior at BHS, stated that her favorite Christmas movie is also Home Alone: “My favorite is Home Alone because it gives you a good laugh. It is fun to watch with family and cheers you up.” Another fan favorite is Elf. Juniors Morgan Drummond and Brooklyne Allen agreed that Elf is the best Christmas movie. Allen stated, “Elf is the best Christmas movie because it is funny and I really like it,” and Drummond mentioned, “Elf is one of my favorites because it is really funny, but I also enjoy Christmas with the Kranks.” Others took the route of the best Christmas movie a little differently, though. Cameron Paddock, a junior at Beavercreek High School, stated, “My favorite Christmas movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas because it is cool and I really like it.” Some students may prefer this spookier movie, while others appreciate the live-action recreations of cartoon classics. Samantha Oxner, who is also a junior at BHS, stated, “The best movie is the live-action remake of The Grinch because it is nostalgic.” Lastly, some believe holiday romances are the best. Evelyn Vogel, another junior at Beavercreek, stated, “I think The Princess Switch is the best Christmas movie because it is very entertaining and I enjoy the plot.” As it has been shown, students at BHS have a wide variety of what they believe is the best Christmas movie to exist. This holiday season, snuggle down with family or friends and watch some of these holiday favorites!
