Unfortunately, the holiday season not only brings the joy of Christmas, but also the stress of finals. Students around Beavercreek High School are frantically rushing around, trying to juggle both the anxiety of exams and holiday plans. During this time of year, it surely is not an unusual sight to see students anxiously studying and making holiday plans at the same time. Students around the building shared some ways they prepare for exams without missing out on holiday fun. Colton Hartshorn, a junior at Beavercreek, stated, “I study for a few days straight, and then I get ready for the holidays.” This allows him to feel ready for exams without ditching Christmas festivities. Hartshorn recommended to other students: “Study hard and study often for a few days. Then take a break and come back to it after an hour or two.” Others plan out their schedules and organize the tasks they need to complete. Meher Kaur, another junior at BHS, stated, “I write stuff in my planner. This helps me organize my days and balance hanging out with family and friends.” This may be especially useful to students who find having a schedule and being organized helpful; however, some students shared different opinions on the topic. Evelyn Vogel and Juliana Nguyen, both juniors at Beavercreek, agreed that there is no physical way to balance exams and holiday fun. Vogel stated, “I don’t balance exams and holiday plans. I only prioritize exams,” and Nguyen mentioned, “I don’t balance. There is no way to do both.” Similar to this, Anne Fernando and Sophia Kowalski, two juniors at Beavercreek, mentioned the exact opposite and said they prioritize holiday plans first above preparing for exams. Fernando stated, “I do a bit of studying and holiday plans, but I usually prioritize holiday fun,” and Kowalski said, “I do holiday plans first.” Fernando recommended, “Students should prioritize exams first and foremost, though, because they are really important.” So, as the most wonderful time of the year is upon us, remember to go out and have fun, but also study!
