As we kick off the New Year, students at Beavercreek High School have many resolutions for the upcoming year. Ranging from fitness and sports to academics and grades, each student has a goal for 2026 and a plan to achieve it. To begin, Evelyn Vogel, a junior at BHS, stated, “My New Year’s Resolution for this year is to consistently go to the gym because I want to stay in shape. To achieve this, I will go to the gym almost every day.” Many people share this same resolution as Vogel with the hopes of living a healthier lifestyle. Similarly, Cameron Paddock, also a junior at Beavercreek, stated, “I want to get better at volleyball this year. I plan on achieving this goal by practicing more.” Striving to get better at a sport is another great resolution that many students at BHS have. Other students have different plans in store for this year, though. Booklyne Allen, a junior at BHS, stated, “My resolution is to go on more side quests. I will do this by saying yes to everything.” Some students strive to live a more adventurous life in 2026. Samantha Oxner, another junior at Beavercreek High School, stated, “I want to do more stupid stuff this year. I will do this by inviting my friends to unplanned events with no meaning or substance.” Others differ from this goal and are aiming to excel academically this year. Madylin Labenski, a junior at Beavercreek, stated, “My resolution this year is to procrastinate less and work harder on my work at school so I don’t have as much homework. I’m going to achieve this by doing as much as I can at school and finishing whatever I don’t get done at school right when I get home. I also plan on waking up earlier to do my work since I work better in the mornings.” Anne Fernando, also a junior at BHS, has a similar goal in mind: “I want to study more this year. I will do this by studying more frequently than I do now.” Lastly, some want to change their lifestyle to something healthier for the environment. Juli Nguyen, a junior at Beavercreek, stated, “My resolution is environmental sustainability. I will do this by recycling and reusing products.” Students around Beavercreek High School have many goals for this year and numerous ways to achieve them. It’s time to start thinking, what’s your New Year’s Resolution for 2026?
